 "F is for Fem"

FRI June 23: 6 - 10 pm SAT June 24: 11 am - 7 pm SUN June 25: 11 am - 4 pm Location: 808 1st st SW, Calgary AB "F is for Fem" will feature the work of Fem Assembly's artists: Christina Krentz, Kelly Isaak, Josefina Rodriguez, Mao Chen, Stephany Victorine, Sandra Lamouche, Samantha Charette, Diane McGeachy, Lili Yas Tayefi, Lex Hilderman, Wei Li, and Claudia Chagoya. "F is for Fem" was created throughout a 6-month period. During this time, the artists gathered for monthly critiques that helped develop a cohesive body of work. The artworks reflect upon the impact of intersectional feminism on their identities, artistic practices and lives. The sum of these resulting artworks defy, subvert and/or resist historical contexts of oppression and amplify the importance of getting together as a community.
