Commitment: 5-10 hours per month

About CYPT:

Since 1992, Calgary Young People’s Theatre has specialized in providing performance and creation opportunities for youth age 4 - 18, through summer drama camps, year-round drama classes, main stage productions, and new play development programs. CYPT’s vibrant non-profit organization is dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through the transformative power of theatre. Committed to fostering creativity, inclusivity and community engagement, CYPT provides a platform for youth to explore the world of performing arts.

Position Overview:

As a board member for Calgary Young People’s Theatre, you will contribute your expertise, passion, and commitment to the organization’s mission and strategic direction. This volunteer position offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping CYPT’s future, ensuring its sustainability, and supporting the community impact it has on young individuals.

We are currently seeking individuals with expertise or a background in one or more of the following areas:

- Fundraising

- Legal or Governance

- Marketing and Public Relations

- Human Resources

- Calgary Arts Community Knowledge

- Arts and Education Advocacy

Qualifications:

- Commitment to CYPT’s mission and values.

- Previous board or committee experience, preferably in the non-profit sector, is an asset.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Willingness to actively engage in fundraising efforts and/or other organizational activities.

- Knowledge of or experience in the arts, education, or youth development is an asset

- Preferably Calgary or Alberta Based Individuals
