Location: The Grand Theater 608 1 St SW, Calgary, AB
Time: September 23 & 24, 4pm-6pm For Alberta Culture Days 2021, Ethnik Festivals Association is putting forward a 2 days cultural presentation for our community. This event is adaptable for an online presence, and it’s called "A Cultural Trilogy". This is a fictional cultural expression, an original story written by Lanre Ajayi, artistic and creative director, Ethnik Festivals Association and adapted for a theatrical performance with Nyota as the playwright, Ed Ogum as Director with contributions from Cheryl Foggo. This story is about women’s empowerment and cultural advancement taking a clue from folktales from Afro-Canadian perspectives with relevance to our modern-day cultural trends. This is a group of 3 related cultural activities that will showcase our cultural nuances vis-à-vis the present-day cultural expressions on the impact of women and role-playing in Afro Canadian/Caribbean societies. These 3 literary works of art will be a fusion of dance, theatre, and musical presentation which is related in subject or theme to what we called a cultural trilogy. Comments are closed.
