The Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation is excited to announce that our Immigrant Arts Mentorship Program (IAMP) will be entering its second year. IAMP pairs newcomer artists or arts workers with local mentors in the same discipline, who provide one-on-one guidance and support in order to build a local connection to the arts community and develop professional skills that would equip them for professional practices in Canada. IAMP also fosters a sense of community, by adding group professional development sessions for all of the mentees that address important topics for working in the arts like grant writing, networking skills, cultural understanding and more.
Applications will open on March 7th and close on March 31st. There will be an information session about the program on March 18th. If you are an immigrant/refugee in Alberta who has been in Canada for less than seven years and you are interested in working in the arts, please watch our website for more information on the program.
