Call for Black Artists: Join Our Focus Groups!
Oddside Arts, in partnership with Sabrina Richard of Bespoke Collective, is hosting a series of focus groups for Black artists as part of our national research project Archiving Black Futures: Revisioning Public Art.
We’re looking for Black artists (emerging, mid-career, and established) from Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Alberta to share their lived experiences navigating the public art sector in Canada.
For the purpose of this project, we are looking for artist who have done visual artworks in the public sphere (temporary or permanent) (ex. murals, sculptures, etc).
Focus Groups will take place on the following dates:
November 20th, 2025 (Online via Zoom)
November 21st, 2025 (Online via Zoom)
Saturday, November 29 (In-person in Toronto)
December 4th, 2025 (Online via Zoom)
December 5th, 2025 (Online via Zoom)
Your insights will help identify barriers, shape new opportunities, and inform a culturally responsive toolkit for equity in public art.
You’ll be able to:

💰 All artists will be compensated for their time
🖋️ Help us reimagine a more inclusive and equitable public art landscape.
